Nota Masselos SA

Nota was founded in 1962 by Theodore and Nota Masselos and has more than 50 years in the lingerie trade. Since its inception the company has focused on creativity and design as well as product quality, values that helped the brand grow quickly. In addition to its own collection of homewear, nightwear and beachwear, which are designed in Greece, the company is the exclusive distributor of Simone Pérèle & Implicite, Princesse Tam Tam, Wacoal as well at the men's underwear line of Jockey International.

Nota products are sold through six branded stores and corners in Hondos and Attica Department stores as well as 200 independent retailers in Greece. The collection is also available in department stores and specialty retailers  in France, Switzerland, Norway, Poland, Czech republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, UAE Japan and the US.

The pursuit of quality has been a core concept since Nota was founded. In fact most consumers will associate Nota with the word “quality”. In 1999 and in order to formalize its processes the company's has registered and certified its quality assurance system under the ISO9001 quality standard by TÜV-CERT.

 

NOTA is a leader in IT and information systems development in the apparel sector. It was the first company to implement - in 1994 - a full scale EDI project in Greece. The use of EDI in conjunction with Auto ID technology (EAN - 13 bar coding) significantly improves accuracy, efficiency and lead times. Masselos SA has recently installed a state of the art ERP system linking all its stores and offices.

NOTA has been actively involved in a significant number of European Union Research and Development Projects including interalia COMMET, STAR, ESF programs, FORCE, LEONARDO, ESPRIT, EQUAL etc. Nota was an industry partner in the CLEVERTEX program whose objective is the development and use of smart textiles and was also involved in the testing phase of the Ebiz-TCF project.

Masselos SA is dedicated to human resource development. The company's in-house training program has covered more than 1.500 hours of instruction since its inception in 1989. Nota was included as a case study in a 1999 European Commission publication titled "New forms of work organisation" thanks to the innovative design and content of its continuous training program. In 2002 Nota received the Hellenic Management Association Award for its commitment to education and in 2005 a case study on the company was presented at a conference organized by the Danish Presidency.

Nota is a member of the Greek Fashion Industry Association (ΣΕΠΕΕ - www.greekfashion.gr) and of the International Apparel Federation  (IAF - www.iafnet.com).
